Greetings! My name is Ms. Sudha, and I am delighted to be part of the Pi Learning Academy community.
For approximately 20 years, I have had the privilege of teaching and tutoring students in mathematics, language arts, vocabulary, grammar, and SAT/ACT preparation. Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with students across all grade levels, from elementary school through high school.
One of the greatest joys of teaching mathematics is helping students move from “I don’t understand this” to that wonderful “aha!” moment when a concept finally clicks. I take great pride in helping students develop not only their mathematical skills, but also the confidence to approach challenging problems with persistence and curiosity.
Mathematics is not simply a subject we study in school—it is a way of understanding and making sense of the world around us.
I also love helping students strengthen their language and communication skills. Grammar and vocabulary are powerful tools that students will carry with them not only throughout their academic journeys but also into their professional and personal lives. Sometimes, a single comma can even change the meaning of an entire sentence! There is quite a difference between:
“Let’s eat mom.”
and
“Let’s eat, Mom.”
A strong command of language helps students communicate their ideas clearly, confidently, and effectively—and effective communication is essential in virtually every field.
Science is another area that brings me tremendous joy. I especially enjoy taking theoretical scientific concepts and bringing them to life through hands-on experiments. There is something incredibly rewarding about watching students’ faces light up as they explore, experiment, ask questions, and discover how the world works. Their excitement reminds me why curiosity is such an important part of learning.
For me, teaching is part of my why. It gives me purpose, fulfillment, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
I believe that when we educate a child, we have the opportunity to positively impact an entire community. Education has a ripple effect, and it is one of my greatest honors to play even a small role in helping prepare our future generation.
At Pi Learning Academy, I look forward to helping each student discover and reach their full academic potential. I believe learning should be engaging, meaningful, and fun! I love incorporating hands-on activities and real-world connections whenever possible because students learn best when they are actively involved in the learning process.
I am also a lifelong learner, and one of my greatest hopes as an educator is to inspire that same love of learning in my students. I want them to remain curious—to ask why, to wonder how, and to never be afraid to explore something new.
So, stay young, my friends! Keep your curiosity and sense of wonder alive! Like Peter Pan, never lose that childlike excitement about discovering something new!
My love for teaching, for learning, for questioning, for wondering, and for growing will continue for as long as there are digits in pi—which, of course, means forever!
I am truly honored to teach at Pi Learning Academy, an institution that is committed to providing students with the support, resources, encouragement, and nurturing environment they need to thrive. What I especially value about Pi Learning Academy is its holistic approach to education and the strong sense of community among the entire team.
Here, supporting a child is truly a team effort. From ABAs and support teachers to lead teachers and directors, everyone works collaboratively and cohesively to guide, to encourage, and to empower each student. The school truly embodies the idea that it takes a village to raise and to educate a child.
I am excited to be part of that village and I look forward to helping your child learn, grow, discover, and shine!
