Pi Learning Academy offers a personalized learning experience for students in grades 1-6, including those
with autism, ADHD, and other learning differences. As parents of homeschoolers ourselves, we bring
immense knowledge and firsthand experience to creating a supportive and enriching educational
environment. With a flexible program that includes both in-person and online instruction, we ensure that
each child progresses at their own pace, maintaining a low teacher-to-student ratio of almost 1-to-1.
Students engage in a well-rounded curriculum covering core subjects like math, reading, and science,
along with hands-on STEM projects and interactive learning experiences. We offer multiple curriculum
options, including parent-provided materials, Florida Virtual School, and customized lesson plans
tailored to each student's unique needs.
To enhance real-world learning, we host weekly field trips to museums, nature reserves, and science
centers, allowing students to explore beyond the classroom. These trips provide valuable opportunities
for hands-on discovery, social engagement, and experiential learning.
Our program prioritizes safety with video surveillance, secure facility access, and trained staff to
ensure a secure learning environment. Students are encouraged to develop positive behavior, respect for
peers, and a strong sense of community.
At Pi Learning Academy, we are committed to academic excellence, creativity, and fostering a love for
learning. With our tailored approach and personal experience as homeschooling parents, we provide the
support students need to succeed and grow both academically and personally.
We are proud to be an approved provider for the Step Up for Students scholarship program. Additionally, we accept the Unique Abilities (FES-UA) and Personalized Education Program (FTC-PEP) scholarships. These programs allow eligible families to use scholarship funds for our personalized homeschooling services. We also offer a direct-pay option for families who prefer that method of payment.
We are a private Hillsborough County school but we cannot take FTC-EO scholarship yet.
If your child qualifies for any of these scholarships, we are happy to assist you in navigating the application process. For more details on eligibility and how to apply, please visit the scholarship websites or contact us for further assistance.
We offer both full-time and part-time enrollment plans to accommodate your family's schedule. Parents may choose the specific days their child will attend. Flexible options allow families to select tailored schedules.
Our program caters to students both online and in-person with flexible scheduling to meet the needs of homeschooling families. Each session focuses on core subjects and interactive learning. Our in-person and online sessions allow for tailored instruction that ensures each child progresses at their own pace.
Our Pi Learning Academy offers three curriculum options: Parent-Provided Curriculum, where students bring their own materials for support and enrichment; Florida Virtual School (FLVS), with educator guidance for online learning, scheduling, and practice; and Customized Curriculum, tailored by teachers using diagnostic assessments aligned with Florida Standards, ensuring continuous progress monitoring.
Every Wednesday, students embark on exciting educational field trips to museums, nature reserves,
science centers, and other enriching locations. These outings provide hands-on learning experiences that
complement classroom instruction, fostering curiosity and real-world connections.
Field trips are $75 per trip for homeschool enrichment (part-time) students. Full-time
students attend most field trips free of charge; when a specific trip carries an additional fee,
parents are notified in advance.
Parents are encouraged to join as chaperones to ensure a safe and engaging experience for all students.
To participate, students must bring a signed permission slip, a disposable lunch, and necessary
outdoor essentials like sunscreen and bug spray.
Pi Learning Academy supports students with diverse learning needs, including those with IEPs, 504 plans, EPs, or other academic accommodations. While we do not provide sustained one-on-one academic or behavioral support, we welcome students who require additional assistance, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy or Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT). These professionals may accompany students during program hours with prior notice and proper documentation. Our goal is to ensure that every child receives reasonable accommodations to support their educational journey.
At the end of each academic year, Pi Learning Academy conducts evaluations to assess student progress. These evaluations include a portfolio review, discussions on academic achievements, and a formal evaluation form completed by our directors and teachers. Parents can choose in-person or virtual evaluations, ensuring a flexible and convenient process. A signed evaluation form will be provided for submission to the county's Home Education office, fulfilling state requirements.
